Today is the debut performance of talktalk. I've been really busy this weekend and with the help of Megan and Bilwa have gotten everything all setup at Rocket Cat Cafe. Some really good press has been coming in about the show. Shaun Brady did a nice little blurb in the Philadelphia Daily News. The story was about the "fringe of the fringe" with a photo Megan did of me as "Mikronesia Sane". Here's an excerpt:
Sums it up nicely. Just a quick correction from the article, the show dates for Talktalk are Tuesday September 2, Thursday September 4, Thursday September 11 and Friday September 12 all at 8:00 at Rocket Cat Cafe. 2001 Frankford Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125.
Tickets are $5 and available at the door, the fringe box office or at phillyfringe.org
Also some else I'm really excited about is my new album Host has been released today on earSnake.
Host is two twenty minute tracks of very deep introspective ambient music. The first track is a melange of field recordings, drones and glitch computer treatments called "Snow Wind Cast Into the Fire Well". The second track is featured in the Perpetual Mvmt<>Snd show "Assembling Minutiae" at Nexus Gallery this weekend. That track is called "Pure" and it's a very soothing sea of pure sine waves over tones that make up the note "C".
For the next two weeks the CD will be available exclusively at the Rocket Cat Cafe Fringe
shows and at Perpetual Mvmt<>Snd's show at Nexus Gallery. After the Fringe ends you can buy the album digitally from earSnake.com.
The limited edition CD available only at the fringe are a beautiful hand made linoleum block press of bronze ink on card stock jacket lovingly created by Megan Cauley (fastpanda). They are in limited supply and really look lovely. Here's a photo of the studio as they were being created.
