New Site and other things
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Well it's been about a month since I made a post here in the website. It's been a slow time. As I mentioned before, I've just been working in the studio, making music, playing piano, walking in the woods, watching baseball, drinking lemonade and enjoying the summer.
Also during this time, I redesigned the website as well. I enjoyed the old pink and black website that's been up since early 2007, but I felt like it was a little awkward and distracting looking. Since this site chronicles (more or less) over ten years of my musical adventures it features 10 years of flyers, photos, posters and albums covers. So I decided to make something muted and ambient and let the vibrant colors of the photos, etc. color the site.
In addition to the visual redesign, I have updated and refined some of the sections and just generally cleaned everything up.
It's going to be a busy fall for Mikronesia projects, so I wanted to use this down time to reorganize my little gateway to all things Mikronesia.
Send me your feedback and let me know what you think.
Also wanted to just briefly thank everyone who was involved in the Summer Solstice Reverie at Zagar's Magic Garden. Thanks to Steven from Fire Museum Records for putting it together. It was basically a summer celebration of sound with three hours of improvised music performed in all the nooks and crannies of this spectacular site. Megan and I did a cool little 20 minute of set of improvised noise. I recorded it, so I'll check it out when I head down to the studio and maybe post something if it turned out. Also saw lots of cameras snapping photos, so I'll link to some photos or videos if they come up.
Still a few weeks (at least) until performing gets back into swing. Until then it's studio and organization time. Until then.
