Who Likes Fun?

Monday, May 12, 2008

So this Friday is the long awaited FUNSTIVAL! I'm not sure if it's suppose to be in all caps, but it seems like it warrants such typography.

Along with Pink Skull, The Hessians, Mural and the Mint and tons of other performances, Gemini Wolf (Pandar and Mikronesia duo-style) are going to be doing a short set of material adding to the carny attitude of the evening.

Megan and I are excited, we've been working on some new Gemini Wolf tunes and are going to be playing them in their work-in-progress stage as an electro-noise two piece.

So it's this Friday May 16 (my birthday eve) at Johnny Brenda's - Girard/Frankford - around 10:30 Da Wolf howls!

Here's the press release for the show so all your detailed oriented people can get your bearings.

Umlaut
Umlaut is a myriad of styles by the multiple members dedicated to having fun, shaking your booty and just being generally silly. The robots are all about bringing a smile to your lovely faces whilst having our tongues firmly in our cheeks. Because it feels good to laugh and life’s too short to be serious all the time...

The Mural and the Mint
"...it dwells on ticklish piano and Kiley’s pretty, near-acrobatic singing, with sharp lyrics that flit from love and fatherhood to “gritty city streets.” (Doug Wallen) Philadelphia Weekly

"All of the songs here practically illuminate with their own unique, beautiful, and quiet strength." -Girl About Town

"Sometimes you stumble upon something that restores your faith in an angry city. Restores your faith in strangers and ideals. Not in a cheesy way; just a nice refreshing way. The Mural and the Mint did that for me." -Ugh News
