Nexus Media

So the show at Nexus two weeks ago was really ace. We've got some video and audio from the performance. It was me, Bilwa on Sound and Emily Sweeney and Rebecca Patek dancing. It was a great installation to work with. On one side were large black and white balloons that made a vertical maze. On the other side were various drawings of bunnies and surreal settings. The whole Paraphrase idea is for artists to come into the Nexus Gallery and do a performance inspired by the work.

For this one for whatever reason the massive balloons made me think of radios. So I did my take on John Cage's Imaginary Landscape No. 4. I played two radios through a series of pedals and sampler. For Bilwa, he had bunch of smaller balloons played through contact mics and as percussion instruments. It was wild and the dance, sound and visuals were very disorienting.

Here's a link to listen to the whole performance (around 22 minutes)
